ELPS Resource Tools
The English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS), as required by 19 Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 74, Subchapter A, §74.4, outline English language proficiency level descriptors and student expectations for emergent bilingual students. School districts are required to implement ELPS as an integral part of each subject in the required curriculum.

This online module provides an understanding of how the English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) provide cross-curricular second language acquisition essential knowledge and skills for listening, speaking, reading, and writing. As well as, to support a common framework for educators while providing instruction to ELLs in all content area classrooms. (4 CPE hours)

The Implementing the ELPS (English Language Proficiency Standards) in English Language Arts course will assist in understanding how to apply the ELPS cross-curricular student expectations and linguistic accommodations in a content area lesson. The integration of the ELPS in lesson planning and instructional practices to support ELL success will be addressed. (3 CPE hours)

The Implementing the ELPS in Mathematics course will assist in understanding how to apply the ELPS cross-curricular student expectations and linguistic accommodations in a content area lesson. The integration of the ELPS in lesson planning and instructional practices to support ELL success will be addressed. (3 CPE hours)
