ELPS Resource Tools

The English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) outline English language proficiency level descriptors and student expectations for emergent bilingual students. School districts are required to implement ELPS as an integral part of each subject in the required curriculum.

ELPS Academy
This online module provides an understanding of how the English Language Proﬁciency Standards (ELPS) provide cross-curricular second language acquisition essential knowledge and skills for listening, speaking, reading, and writing. As well as, to support a common framework for educators while providing instruction to emergent bilingual students in all content area classrooms. (4 CPE hours)

The Implementing the ELPS (English Language Proﬁciency Standards) in English Language Arts course will assist in understanding how to apply the ELPS cross-curricular student expectations and linguistic accommodations in a content area lesson.
